About the role
Our client, a leading international firm in infrastructure development, is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager to join their globally distributed team. This is a fully remote opportunity, allowing you to contribute to significant projects from the comfort of your home office. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your role will involve managing all phases of the project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies and design through to construction and handover.
Key responsibilities include developing detailed project plans, establishing project scope, objectives, and deliverables, and managing project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials. You will be adept at risk management, identifying potential issues and developing mitigation strategies. Client and stakeholder management will be a crucial aspect of your role, requiring excellent communication and negotiation skills to ensure satisfaction and alignment. You will also be responsible for managing project budgets, tracking expenditures, and implementing cost-control measures. Ensuring compliance with all relevant engineering standards, building codes, and safety regulations is paramount. This role requires a strong understanding of various civil engineering disciplines, including structural, geotechnical, transportation, and water resources engineering.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, coupled with a professional engineering license (e.g., COREN) or equivalent. A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in managing large-scale civil engineering projects is essential. Proven experience with project management software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project is required. You must possess strong leadership qualities, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure. The ability to work effectively in a remote, international team environment, collaborating with diverse stakeholders across different time zones, is critical. Candidates should demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and a proactive approach to project challenges.
