Our client, a prominent civil engineering firm, is seeking a seasoned Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager to lead complex infrastructure projects from inception to completion. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to leverage your expertise and leadership skills from anywhere while guiding critical construction and development endeavors. You will be responsible for overseeing all phases of project management, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder communication. This role demands a proven track record in managing large‑scale civil engineering projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full lifecycle of civil engineering projects, ensuring timely and within‑budget delivery.
- Develop detailed project plans, scope definitions, work breakdown structures, and schedules.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost‑effectiveness.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Oversee the selection and management of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, building codes, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Communicate effectively with clients, regulatory bodies, internal teams, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare regular project status reports, presentations, and documentation.
- Foster a collaborative and high‑performance team environment.
- Utilize project management software and tools for planning, tracking, and reporting.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control assessments as needed (may require occasional travel).
- Lead project closeout activities, including final documentation and lessons learned.
- Mentor junior engineers and project team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- A Master's degree is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering project management, with a significant focus on infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, bridges, water systems, buildings).
- Proven experience managing projects from conceptualization through completion.
- In‑depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent financial acumen and experience managing large project budgets.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and work effectively in a remote setting.
- Experience with contract negotiation and administration.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability in project execution.
- This remote role requires strong self‑management skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with teams and clients across different locations. You will play a key role in shaping the built environment.
