Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of diverse civil infrastructure projects, including roadways, bridges, site plans, and utility systems.
• Perform complex engineering analysis, calculations, and design using civil engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation).
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and design standards.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively.
• Coordinate with clients, government agencies, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
• Review and approve engineering designs and construction plans.
• Participate in public hearings and community meetings as required.
• Stay current with advancements in civil engineering technologies and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in civil infrastructure design and project management.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the relevant state (District of Columbia preferred).
• Proficiency in civil engineering design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D is essential).
• Strong understanding of transportation design, site development, stormwater management, and utility design.
• Excellent project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Superior written and verbal communication abilities, with experience in client and agency interaction.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
