Senior Civil Project Manager

Our client is a prominent civil engineering and construction firm engaged in significant infrastructure development. We are seeking an accomplished Senior Civil Project Manager to spearhead major projects from inception through to completion. This hybrid role allows for remote work flexibility while requiring regular on-site presence at our projects and offices in **Zaria, Kaduna, NG**, to ensure effective oversight and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in civil engineering project management, a strong understanding of construction methodologies, and exceptional leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities: Oversee all phases of civil engineering projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and closeout. Develop comprehensive project plans, defining scope, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation. Manage project execution, ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and contractual obligations. Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to facilitate project progress. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement proactive solutions. Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial objectives are met. Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings to ensure quality control and timely completion. Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers, and manage relationships effectively. Prepare and present detailed project reports to senior management and stakeholders. Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, safety, and legal regulations. Mentor and develop project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree or PMP certification is highly desirable. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in managing large-scale civil engineering and infrastructure projects. Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget. Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials. Expertise in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and principles. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. Strong understanding of contract management and risk assessment. Experience working with government agencies and public sector clients is a plus. Proficiency in relevant design and analysis software is an advantage.
