Senior Cloud Architect

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Architect to design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-based solutions. Based in **Jos, Plateau, NG**, this role offers a hybrid work model, blending the flexibility of remote work with essential in-office collaboration. You will be instrumental in defining the company's cloud strategy, overseeing the migration of existing applications, and architecting new cloud-native solutions. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), infrastructure as code, containerization, and modern DevOps practices. You will lead architectural reviews, mentor junior engineers, and ensure that cloud solutions align with business objectives and industry best practices.

Responsibilities: Develop and maintain the overall cloud architecture strategy and roadmap. Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions. Lead the migration of on-premises workloads to the cloud. Define standards and best practices for cloud resource provisioning, management, and security. Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies and services. Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of cloud applications. Provide technical leadership and guidance on cloud-related projects. Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. Implement and manage container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes. Monitor cloud environments for performance, cost optimization, and security vulnerabilities. Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues. Mentor and guide junior cloud engineers and architects. Stay current with emerging cloud trends and technologies. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and cloud computing, with at least 3 years in a cloud architect role. Proven expertise in designing and deploying solutions on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation). Proficiency in containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes). Solid understanding of networking, security, and data storage concepts in cloud environments. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable. This hybrid role requires occasional presence in our **Jos, Plateau, NG** office, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the week.
