About

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Data & AI Engineer who will not only conceptualize modern Data & AI platforms but also bring them to life. As an architect and doer, you will combine Data Engineering, Cloud structures, and AI solutions into productive systems that are scalable, maintainable, and business-relevant for our clients.

Responsibilities

Your tasks include:

• Conceptualization and implementation of modern Data & AI platforms based on Databricks
• Development of robust and performant batch and streaming pipelines with Python, SQL, Spark, and PySpark
• Work on scalable Lakehouse architectures for Analytics, ML, and GenAI use cases
• Utilization of central Databricks components such as Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Workflows, MLflow, Model Serving, and Vector Search in production environments
• Support in building and operationalizing ML, LLM, and GenAI use cases
• Work on topics such as Serving, Retrieval, Evaluation, Monitoring, and Governance for modern AI applications
• Integration of various source systems such as APIs, databases, ERP, or CRM systems
• Technical implementation of requirements related to Data Quality, Security, Governance, and Observability
• Automation of deployments and technical standards with Git, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code
• Consulting clients and internal stakeholders on architectural decisions regarding data platforms and AI solutions
• Knowledge sharing within the team, technical guidance, and support for less experienced colleagues

Qualifications

What you bring:

• Several years of experience in Data Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, AI Engineering, or a comparable role
• Very good knowledge of Databricks
• Very good knowledge of Python, SQL, Spark, and PySpark
• Practical experience with at least one cloud platform, ideally Azure or AWS
• Experience in building and operating modern data platforms in the cloud
• Experience with MLflow, Model Serving, and Vector Search, ideally in the Databricks environment
• Good knowledge of modern AI/LLM architectures, e.g., around RAG, Retrieval, Evaluation, Serving, and productive GenAI applications
• Good understanding of Lakehouse architectures, data modeling, and productive data processes
• Experience in the areas of Data Governance, Data Quality, Security, and Monitoring
• Proficient in Git, CI/CD, and ideally Infrastructure as Code
• Completed degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a comparable field of study
