Senior Cloud Native Software Engineer – DevOps & AI (m/w/d)

About the Role

With the AI4DevOps project, we are creating a company-wide, standardized framework for the pragmatic, secure, and scalable use of Artificial Intelligence in the DevOps lifecycle. The goal is to specifically relieve developers and DevOps teams, increase quality, and sustainably integrate AI into tools, processes, and governance. A core component is the AI4DevOps Navigator as part of the DevOps Mainline. It bundles validated AI use cases, standards, best practices, prerequisites, and integration options along the DevOps lifecycle and serves as an operational guide for teams.

Responsibilities

• You analyze complex requirements and conceptualize strategic AI-supported DevOps use cases, the implementation of which you manage independently and further develop together with interdisciplinary teams.
• You are responsible for the development, integration, and operation of scalable automation solutions within the DevOps toolchain and drive their continuous optimization and standardization.
• You initiate and lead Proofs of Concept as well as technological evaluations and create well-founded decision-making bases for the use of new technologies and target architectures.
• You define, establish, and are responsible for sustainable quality assurance measures and best practices (including testing, CI/CD, documentation) and actively manage the further development of the Mainline.
• You take on technical leadership responsibility by coordinating projects, making largely autonomous decisions, and actively promoting the professional development of team members.

Requirements

• You have experience in cloud and platform architectures, especially with public cloud offerings from Azure, AWS, OpenAI, or Anthropic.
• You have in-depth experience in development with Java and Spring Boot, as well as with agentic frameworks and AI-based automation.
• You have extensive practical experience with CI/CD and DevOps processes (e.g., GitHub Actions, proFlow, CICDnext) and routinely implement test-driven development and common security standards (e.g., OWASP).
• You have experience in agile development environments and in the use of modern development approaches (e.g., Agentic SDLC) as well as proven practical knowledge in the productive use of AI tools such as GitHub Copilot to increase efficiency in software development.
• You are motivated to actively help shape a company-wide AI framework for DevOps with high visibility and have a strong willingness to learn.

Learnable Skills

• As part of your onboarding, you will expand your knowledge of AI-SDLC and the integration of AI into DevOps processes and agentic frameworks and AI-based automation.
• Application of AI Governance and Policy as Code.
