Join our team as a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, scalable AWS infrastructure. This role emphasizes creating reusable platform capabilities, automation, and governance to empower engineering teams in reliably delivering applications and data systems.
Your expertise will help standardize infrastructure patterns, enhance operational reliability through observability and runbooks, and ensure security and compliance across AWS environments.

Compensation
Rate: $75.00 to $65.00/hr. (w2)
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable AWS infrastructure using services such as S3, IAM, KMS, Lambda, API Gateway, VPC, and EventBridge.
- Build and maintain cloud-native data and application platforms utilizing AWS services like S3, Glue, Step Functions, Lambda, Kinesis or MSK, and Redshift or Snowflake.
- Engineer secure networking patterns, including VPC architecture and cross-account access.
- Implement encryption, key management, and secure data handling practices.
- Establish platform guardrails with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, and Service Control Policies.
- Enforce compliance standards and conduct drift detection across accounts.
- Build observability using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and other monitoring tools.
- Create standards for SLIs, SLOs, and automated remediation.
- Develop operational runbooks, incident response processes, and reliability improvements.
- Deliver infrastructure-as-code via Terraform or CloudFormation and create reusable modules.
- Integrate CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and security scanning.
- Provide tools for efficient application deployment and operations in AWS.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and data teams to enhance platform capabilities.
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and Tier-3 support, leading post-incident reviews.
Experience Requirements
- 6 to 10+ years in platform, cloud, or infrastructure engineering roles.
- Hands-on expertise with AWS services including S3, IAM, KMS, Lambda, API Gateway, VPC, and CloudWatch.
- Proven experience designing secure AWS infrastructure.
- Strong security fundamentals across identity management and encryption.
- Proficiency with Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience in building CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.
- Scripting and automation skills with Python or Bash.
- Implemented operational reliability practices and monitoring.
- Advanced troubleshooting experience with complex production systems.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes, enterprise identity, and AWS governance services.
- Experience in regulated environments such as SOX, SOC 2, HIPAA, or GDPR.
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, Security Specialty) are a plus.
Education Requirements
- AWS Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Security Specialty certification is preferred.
