Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Security Engineer to bolster their IT infrastructure security in Kaduna, Kaduna, NG. This critical role involves designing, implementing, and managing robust security measures across their cloud environments. You will be responsible for protecting sensitive data, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and proactively identifying and mitigating security threats. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in cloud security best practices, threat detection, incident response, and secure configuration of cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls and solutions across cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Develop and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and remediate security risks.
• Implement and manage security tools for threat detection, intrusion prevention, and security information and event management (SIEM).
• Develop and execute incident response plans, investigate security breaches, and provide post-incident analysis.
• Ensure compliance with relevant security regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2).
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security into the CI/CD pipeline (DevSecOps).
• Provide expert guidance on cloud security architecture and best practices to internal teams.
• Monitor cloud environments for security events and anomalies, responding promptly to security incidents.
• Manage identity and access management (IAM) policies and controls.
• Develop and deliver security awareness training to employees.
• Stay current with the latest cloud security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
• Manage security documentation, including policies, procedures, and incident reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in information security, with at least 4 years focused on cloud security.
• Proven experience securing cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud security principles, tools, and best practices.
• Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, WAFs, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint security.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols and security concepts.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation is highly desirable.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Security - Specialty, or Azure Security Engineer are a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Experience in incident response and forensic analysis is beneficial.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and practices.
