Our client, a leader in the IT & Software sector, is seeking an exceptionally talented Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to join their fully remote engineering division. This is a critical role responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud infrastructure solutions. You will work at the forefront of cloud technology, architecting robust solutions that meet complex business requirements and drive digital transformation. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices architecture, containerization, and DevOps practices. This role is 100% remote, fostering collaboration within a distributed team of experts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of cloud-native applications and infrastructure, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical best practices.
• Define cloud strategy, select appropriate cloud services, and develop roadmaps for migration and modernization initiatives.
• Develop and implement robust security measures, compliance frameworks, and disaster recovery plans for cloud environments.
• Oversee the implementation of CI/CD pipelines and automate infrastructure deployment and management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of cloud solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior architects and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
• Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies and services to enhance capabilities and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud-related issues and develop effective solutions.
• Document architectural designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Present technical proposals and architectural solutions to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years focused on cloud architecture and design (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Proven experience designing and implementing scalable, fault-tolerant, and secure cloud solutions.
• Strong expertise in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
• Deep understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and data management in the cloud.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies (DevOps).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.

Additional Information

• This is a fully remote position, enabling you to work from anywhere.
• While our main IT operations are coordinated from Bloemfontein, Free State, ZA, this role is location-independent.
