Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Community Health Program Manager to oversee and expand vital health initiatives within the Kimberley, Northern Cape, ZA region. This role is crucial for developing, implementing, and managing community-based health programs aimed at improving public health outcomes, particularly for underserved populations. The successful candidate will work closely with local healthcare providers, community leaders, government agencies, and non-profit organizations to identify health needs, design effective interventions, and ensure sustainable program delivery. This position requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a deep commitment to social equity and public health.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategic plans for community health programs, aligning with regional health priorities and organizational goals.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple community health projects, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely execution.
- Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with community stakeholders, including local clinics, schools, NGOs, and government health departments.
- Conduct needs assessments and health status analyses to identify key health challenges and opportunities within the community.
- Design, implement, and monitor evidence-based health interventions and outreach activities.
- Manage program budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial accountability and compliance.
- Recruit, train, and supervise program staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Develop and manage data collection systems to monitor program progress, evaluate outcomes, and generate reports for funders and stakeholders.
- Organize and facilitate community health workshops, educational sessions, and awareness campaigns.
- Advocate for policies and resources that support community health improvements.
- Ensure programs adhere to ethical guidelines and best practices in community health and development.
- Represent the organization at community meetings, health fairs, and relevant professional forums.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master's degree in Public Health, Community Health, Social Work, or a related field.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in program management within the community health or non-profit sector, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating community health programs.
- Strong understanding of public health principles, health promotion strategies, and social determinants of health.
- Proven ability to build and manage effective partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) methodologies, and reporting.
- Strong budget management and financial oversight capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of the local context and health landscape in the Northern Cape is highly desirable.
- Willingness to travel within the Kimberley region and surrounding areas as required.
