Senior Construction Project Manager

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Senior Construction Project Manager to oversee and lead significant construction projects from inception to completion. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of all phases of the construction lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and closeout. You will be responsible for managing project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, strong negotiation abilities, a deep knowledge of construction methodologies, and a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects in the civil or building construction sectors. This is an on-site position requiring active management of project sites and teams.

Responsibilities: Lead and manage all aspects of construction projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation. Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications. Manage and coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel. Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and legal requirements. Implement and enforce strict quality control measures throughout the project. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement corrective actions. Manage project finances, including budgeting, cost control, and invoice approval. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors. Prepare regular progress reports for senior management and clients. Foster a safe working environment and ensure all safety protocols are followed on site. Resolve conflicts and disputes among project stakeholders. Conduct site inspections and walkthroughs to ensure quality and progress. Manage project closeout, including final inspections, documentation, and handover. Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in construction management. Manage client relationships and ensure client satisfaction. Approve payments and manage change orders effectively. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in construction project management. Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects from start to finish. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and construction management platforms. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively. In-depth knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices (e.g., OSHA standards). Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents. Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Experience in contract administration and dispute resolution. Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager) are highly desirable. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites. Commitment to delivering high-quality results.
