Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer – Construction (Rigging) to join our Abu Dhabi office and lead rigging activities on large‑scale PMC projects. The successful candidate will act as the technical authority for all rigging operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost‑effective execution of mechanical‑installation works on both onshore and offshore gas‑processing plants.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership	• Lead rigging planning, design, and execution for EPC/PMC contracts. • Coordinate with project managers, discipline leads, and client representatives to align rigging scope with overall project schedule and budget. • Provide technical direction to rigging supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors.
Design & Engineering	• Review and approve rigging calculations, lift plans, and detailed drawings (P&IDs, mechanical layouts, structural drawings). • Develop and validate rigging specifications, load‑charts, and equipment selection (cranes, spreaders, slings, shackles, etc.). • Ensure compliance with international codes (ASME B30, DNV‑GL, API, ISO 19901‑4) and local regulations (UAE Civil Defence, ADNOC).
Construction Execution	• Oversee rigging installation, pre‑assembly, and erection of major plant equipment (compressors, turbines, heat exchangers, pressure vessels). • Conduct site inspections, lift‑test supervision, and verification of as‑built conditions. • Manage interface with civil, structural, and mechanical teams to resolve clashes and sequencing issues.
Safety & Quality	• Champion a zero‑incident culture; enforce rigging safety procedures, risk assessments, and permit‑to‑work systems. • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions. • Ensure all rigging work meets the company’s QA/QC standards and client quality requirements.
Stakeholder Management	• Liaise with clients, consultants, and authorities on rigging‑related matters. • Prepare and present technical reports, progress updates, and cost forecasts to senior management. • Mentor junior engineers and provide training on rigging best practices.
Cost & Schedule Control	• Develop rigging budgets, monitor expenditures, and drive cost‑saving initiatives. • Track rigging‑related critical path activities and proactively mitigate schedule risks.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Requirement	Details
Education	Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering (or related discipline). A Master’s degree is a plus.
Professional Experience	Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in oil & gas EPC/PMC projects, with at least 8 years dedicated to rigging and heavy‑lift engineering.
Industry Exposure	Proven track record on onshore and offshore gas‑processing plants (e.g., LNG, GTL, refinery off‑sites). Experience with EPC contracts for ADNOC, Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy, or similar.
Technical Expertise	• In‑depth knowledge of rigging design, load analysis, crane selection, and lift‑plan preparation. • Familiarity with offshore jacket, topside, and FPSO rigging operations. • Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PDMS, Navisworks, SAP2000, ANSYS).
Regulatory Knowledge	Understanding of UAE civil‑defence regulations, ADNOC safety standards, DNV‑GL, API, and ISO codes related to lifting operations.
Leadership & Communication	Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management skills. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to multidisciplinary teams and senior executives.
Certifications (preferred)	• Certified Rigger / Crane Operator (e.g., NCCER, BOSIET, STCW). • PMP, PE, or equivalent professional engineering license. • H2S‑Safety, NEBOSH, or similar safety qualifications.
