About the role

Senior Cost Accountant - Up to $110k + 15%

Our client, a global manufacturing organization, is hiring a Senior Cost Accountant. This role will partner closely with operations and engineering teams to provide critical cost analysis, support manufacturing decisions, and drive profitability improvements across the business. 100% Onsite to start with hybrid flexibility

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain standard costs for new products, reviewing product structures and routing to ensure accuracy.
  • Analyze and report manufacturing cost variances including purchase price, material usage, labor efficiency, and overhead.
  • Evaluate engineering changes and assess the cost implications on production and product structure.
  • Monitor work orders, scrap, and inventory activity, ensuring accuracy and timely closure.
  • Partner with operations and plant leadership, including participation in production and departmental meetings.
  • Prepare customer and product line contribution margin reports.
  • Support inventory accuracy initiatives, including cycle counting processes.
  • Play a key role in the annual manufacturing budget process including material, labor, and overhead cost planning.
  • Assist with pricing analysis and margin reviews for new sales opportunities.
  • Contribute to process improvement and cost savings initiatives across manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (advanced degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • ERP experience required (JD Edwards preferred; SAP, BAAN, or Oracle also acceptable).
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
