Our client, a prominent financial institution, is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join their Risk Management department. This role is pivotal in assessing and managing credit risk across the organization's lending portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess a strong quantitative background, extensive experience in financial modeling, and a deep understanding of credit risk assessment methodologies. This is an on-site position located in Maiduguri, Borno, NG .

Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain credit risk models and methodologies to assess the creditworthiness of individual borrowers and counterparties. Analyze financial statements, credit reports, market data, and other relevant information to evaluate credit risk exposure. Monitor the credit quality of the loan portfolio, identifying potential areas of concern and developing mitigation strategies. Perform stress testing and scenario analysis to assess the resilience of the portfolio under various economic conditions. Prepare comprehensive credit risk reports and presentations for senior management, the board of directors, and regulatory bodies. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies related to credit risk management. Collaborate with business units, lending teams, and other stakeholders to provide expert advice on credit risk matters. Develop and refine policies and procedures for credit risk assessment and management. Stay abreast of industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging trends in credit risk management. Mentor and guide junior credit analysts. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field; Master's degree or MBA preferred. Minimum of 6 years of experience in credit risk analysis, financial analysis, or a related role within the banking or financial services industry. Strong quantitative and analytical skills with demonstrated proficiency in financial modeling, statistical analysis, and data interpretation. Expertise in using analytical tools and software such as Excel, SQL, R, Python, or SAS. In-depth knowledge of credit risk assessment frameworks, rating methodologies, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., Basel Accords). Excellent understanding of financial markets, different types of financial instruments, and lending practices. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex risk concepts to diverse audiences. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding environment. High level of integrity and ethical conduct. This is an on-site position based in Maiduguri, Borno, NG .
