Senior Cyber Security Experte/Expertin

About This Role

Help us with your expertise to fend off espionage and sabotage attempts on the networks and servers of the Swiss Army and the entire VBS!

Your Tasks

• As the highest technical authority, analyze complex cyberattacks, lead incident response for security-relevant incidents, and coordinate measures directly with military and civilian partners.
• Strategically shape the Digital Forensics domain, set forensic standards, and secure evidence.
• Use reverse engineering to penetrate unknown malware, extract IOCs, and further develop Cyber Threat Intelligence from findings.
• Don't just react to threats; stay one step ahead through proactive threat hunting, red teaming, and risk analyses.
• Develop prototypes for defense solutions and network security monitoring, thereby co-shaping the further development of cyber defense for the Defense Group.
• Maintain knowledge exchange with international partners and position the Defense Group as a reliable cyber security actor.

What Makes You Unique

• Completed university degree (Bachelor/Master) in Computer Science, IT Security, or a related technical field; further specialization is an advantage.
• In-depth experience in Cyber Defense, particularly in Digital Forensics (Memory/Disk/Network) and in the reverse engineering of complex malware.
• Proven expertise in analyzing and defending against highly sophisticated attacks (espionage, sabotage, APT) – ideally in security-critical infrastructures or government organizations.
• Strategic thinking, combined with the ability to connect technical, organizational, and political dimensions.
• Very good English skills as well as active knowledge of at least one other official language, passive knowledge of a third official language is an advantage.

As the highest technical expert for digital forensics and reverse engineering within the Defense Group, the focus is on detecting and deciphering attacks, and presenting concrete courses of action to Switzerland's security authorities.
