Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a prominent financial institution, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join their dedicated security team. This role is essential for protecting the organization's sensitive data and IT infrastructure from evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security measures, incident response, and threat detection systems. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, network security, and risk management. This position requires the engineer to be based on-site to ensure the highest level of security and rapid response capabilities for critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, and managing security controls and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), SIEM, and endpoint security solutions.
• Developing and executing incident response plans, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
• Monitoring security alerts and logs to detect and respond to security incidents in real-time.
• Developing and enforcing security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Collaborating with IT teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of system design and development.
• Providing security awareness training to employees.
• Staying up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
• Participating in security audits and compliance activities.
• Mentoring junior security analysts and engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC) are highly desirable.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on security engineering and operations.
• Proven experience with network security, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills for threat detection and analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various internal teams and external partners.
• Proactive and diligent approach to security.
