The Opportunity

As a pivotal member of the software development team, the Senior QA Engineer plays a key role in our Agile/Scrum environment. You will ensure the quality, reliability, and security of mission-critical financial applications through a combination of manual and automated testing. This includes executing test cases and automation scripts, performing regression testing in lower environments, and validating post-production releases.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Actively engage in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Analyze user stories and requirements to develop effective test cases/scripts.
  • Execute both manual and automated test cases during each sprint.
  • Validate new features, bug fixes, and integrations.
  • Develop and maintain manual and automated test scripts.
  • Design automation frameworks for web-based applications and expand regression automation coverage.
  • Deploy automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
  • Conduct end-to-end testing and post-production release validation.
  • Manage defects by documenting and collaborating with the development team for resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with DHS security standards and maintain comprehensive QA documentation.

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a QA Engineer in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Hands-on experience in manual and automated testing.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and frameworks.
  • The ability to obtain/maintain secret level clearance or above.
  • Willingness to work on-site as required.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking tools like Jira.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior consulting experience.
  • Experience supporting federal government systems, such as DHS or FEMA.
  • Expertise in testing identity services and security-sensitive systems.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and API testing.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based environments.
