Position Summary

As a Senior Cybersecurity Solutions Architect, you will serve as a key technical advisor focused on enhancing enterprise security and privacy initiatives across emerging technologies, Cyber Risk Management, Zero Trust architecture, and overall cybersecurity readiness. In this role, you will evaluate and integrate innovative security capabilities, perform threat-informed risk analysis, and strengthen the overall security posture through comprehensive architecture reviews and data-driven decision-making.

You will provide subject matter expertise aligned with the CISA Zero Trust Maturity Model and federal security frameworks, support Proofs of Concept, and convert complex risk findings into actionable recommendations for the enterprise. Utilizing your skills in SQL and scripting, you will analyze cybersecurity data to identify trends, validate risk metrics, and inform strategic improvements.

This position requires substantial federal cybersecurity experience, a strong understanding of NIST frameworks, and the ability to balance strategic planning with operational execution in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a senior technical advisor for security and privacy initiatives across various emerging technologies, cyber risk management, Zero Trust architecture, and readiness efforts.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies (such as AI/ML, advanced encryption, cloud security, automation) to bolster the security and privacy posture of the Marketplace.
  • Assess risks, operational impacts, and innovative opportunities associated with new technologies to ensure alignment with enterprise missions and strategies.
  • Support Proofs of Concept (PoC) initiatives by integrating threat intelligence and conducting risk assessments, advising on integration with existing security capabilities.
  • Examine business practices that expose attack surfaces and recommend comprehensive risk reduction strategies beyond technical measures.
  • Analyze threat trends against the enterprise and contextualize risks in terms of operational impact.
  • Evaluate cybersecurity posture with enterprise data sources to pinpoint trends in vulnerabilities and risks.
  • Benchmark current cybersecurity capabilities against industry best practices and recommend enhancements for improved risk posture.
  • Develop and run SQL queries against enterprise cybersecurity data sources for risk analysis and operational metrics reporting.
  • Oversee cyber operations activities including attack surface analysis and risk management processes.
  • Provide Zero Trust expertise in alignment with the enterprise strategy and CISA Zero Trust Maturity Model.
  • Assess system architectures for risks and advise on the incorporation of innovative security measures in the system development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with teams to promote Zero Trust implementation and ensure continuous monitoring in accordance with risk requirements.
  • Support cybersecurity readiness during high-risk operational periods, including tabletop exercises and threat actor analysis.
  • Facilitate cross-organizational security forums and engagements to enhance collaboration and proactive risk mitigation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity engineering, security architecture, or cyber risk management.
  • A minimum of 5 years supporting federal security programs; CMS or HHS experience preferred.
  • Proven expertise in Zero Trust Architecture, including familiarity with the CISA Zero Trust Maturity Model.
  • Robust experience in attack surface management, threat intelligence integration, and risk-informed decision-making.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cyber Risk Management frameworks, including NIST RMF and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
  • Experience conducting threat, vulnerability, and impact assessments, translating findings into enterprise-level recommendations.
  • Demonstrated skills in security architecture reviews and supporting system integration efforts.
  • Proficiency in SQL for developing complex queries against enterprise data sources.
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to support data analysis and security processes.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and executive-level reporting skills with the ability to communicate technical risks clearly.
  • Experience with federal cybersecurity data platforms and reporting tools preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple operational workstreams in a dynamic environment.
  • One or more relevant industry certifications required (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP, AWS Security Specialty).

Salary Range:

The annual salary range for this position is $140,000.00 to $160,000.00. Actual compensation depends on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, location, and applicable employment laws. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position and is a component of the total compensation package, which includes additional benefits.
