Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Data & AI Engineer (m/f/d), you will work on a variety of projects at the intersection of Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, IT Architecture, and Business questions.

Your responsibilities include, among others:

• Conceptualization, setup, and further development of modern data platforms and data infrastructures, especially in the Microsoft Azure environment
• Setup, automation, and operation of robust data pipelines for structured and unstructured data
• Utilization and implementation of Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Lakehouse architectures, and related technologies
• Development of scalable solutions for data integration, data modeling, data quality, and data provisioning
• Use of Python, SQL, PySpark, and relevant frameworks for data processing, automation, and analysis
• Development and integration of AI and GenAI solutions, e.g., with Large Language Models, RAG architectures, Azure OpenAI, or comparable technologies
• Setup of AI workflows for process automation, knowledge management, document analysis, or decision support
• Contribution to MLOps and LLMOps concepts, including deployment, monitoring, testing, and governance of AI solutions
• Development of Power BI Reports and semantic data models to support data-driven decisions
• Technical leadership of customer projects from requirements analysis to productive implementation
• Consulting our clients on the selection of suitable technologies, architectures, and implementation concepts
• Development of growth strategies and identification of new business opportunities in the Data & AI sector

Your Profile

• Completed university degree, preferably in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Business Informatics, or a quantitative field
• 3–6 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Science, Analytics Engineering, or Software Engineering
• Solid experience with cloud data platforms, ideally within the Microsoft Azure infrastructure and/or with Databricks or Microsoft Fabric
• Experience in setting up and operating ETL/ELT pipelines as well as processing large and complex data volumes
• Very good knowledge of Python and SQL, as well as experience with relevant technologies such as pandas, NumPy, PySpark, Spark, Delta Lake, or similar frameworks
• Experience with modern data architecture concepts such as Lakehouse, Data Mesh, Medallion Architecture, Data Governance, or semantic data models
• Experience or strong interest in AI Engineering, particularly with Large Language Models, RAG systems, Prompt Engineering, Embeddings, Vector Databases, or AI Agents
• Experience with DevOps, MLOps, or LLMOps practices, e.g., Git, CI/CD, Testing, Deployment, Monitoring, or Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools like Power BI, Qlik Sense, or Tableau, or the willingness to use them specifically
• Very good German and fluent English skills; French would be an advantage
• You are dedicated, creative, and structured, with a strong hands-on mentality
• You enjoy working independently, take technical responsibility, and can communicate complex issues clearly
• You enjoy direct customer contact and translating business problems into robust technical solutions
