About the role
The Opportunity:
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in organizing and interpreting vast amounts of structured and unstructured data generated from technologies like IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Your expertise will help clients extract pivotal insights from disparate data sources to inform critical missions, ranging from fraud detection to cancer research and national intelligence.
At Booz Allen, you will collaborate with a talented team of analysts, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You’ll employ your skills in analytical exploration and data examination to support the design, development, and maintenance of cutting-edge, scalable platforms for our diverse clientele.
What You Bring:
- 3+ years of experience in ETL operations, both on-premises and in Cloud environments
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python
- Familiarity with source control and collaboration tools like Git or Atlassian software
- Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, including SQL or GraphQL
- Experience with automation and scripting on either Linux or Windows operating systems
- Eligibility to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience deploying analytics workloads in PaaS and SaaS environments, including AWS EMR, Redshift, SageMaker, Databricks, or SQL Data Warehouse
- Familiarity with distributed or parallel programming frameworks, such as Apache Spark
- Experience with infrastructure as code frameworks like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Skill in presenting complex information to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience developing and deploying large-scale batch and stream analytics pipelines
- Ability to work within integrated teams alongside customer success managers, infrastructure engineers, data scientists, and software engineers
- Experience with DoD information systems
- Master's degree in a relevant field is a plus
- Cloud Development Certification, such as AWS Solutions Architect, is an advantage
- Information Security Certification, including Security+ or CISSP, is appreciated
Clearance Information:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Compensation:
At Booz Allen, we value your contributions and strive to provide a supportive work environment. Our benefits packages, which include health, life, disability, financial, and retirement support, are designed to promote your overall well-being. The projected compensation range for this position is between $61,900 and $141,000 annually. This range reflects various factors including location, education, skills, and experience.
