About the role

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain and execute complex SQL queries for data management and data validation.
  • Demonstrates subject matter expertise in relation to data mapping, transformations, validations, and ingestion workflows.
  • Monitor data workflows and ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability.
  • Design and implement scalable and secure data architectures to support new and existing applications.
  • Perform production solutions and services configurations as needed.
  • Serve as a change agent to identify organizational improvements and make recommendations to improve business processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including technical product owners, analysts, and software engineers.
  • Create and maintain SOP documents.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and architectural discussions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in data engineering.
  • Participate in meetings with clients and/or stakeholders.
  • Completes work as assigned.
  • Provide after-hours or weekend support as needed.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work independently.
  • Adhere to all the industry level and organization level compliance rules and regulations to maintain data integrity.
  • Complete task assignments using department ticketing/productivity systems within assigned deadline.
  • Achieve organizational and individual goals as identified in performance reviews and goal setting exercises.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
  • 8+ years of data analysis.
  • Preferably in the Healthcare industry of enrollment, medical claims and/or pharmacy claims.
  • 8+ years hands-on work in SQL and/or PL/SQL.
  • Familiarity designing, implementing, and optimizing data models in NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, neo4j) to support high-volume, low-latency workloads.
  • Working knowledge of big data/cloud technologies (Databricks, AWS, Azure, Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake etc.) is preferred.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite applications PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Flexible work schedule.
  • Experience with project management tools like JIRA.
  • Strong understanding of agile development practices, preferably SAFe.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.
  • Must be able to provide high-speed internet access / connectivity and office setup and maintenance.
