About the role
Responsibilities
- Create, maintain and execute complex SQL queries for data management and data validation.
- Demonstrates subject matter expertise in relation to data mapping, transformations, validations, and ingestion workflows.
- Monitor data workflows and ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability.
- Design and implement scalable and secure data architectures to support new and existing applications.
- Perform production solutions and services configurations as needed.
- Serve as a change agent to identify organizational improvements and make recommendations to improve business processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including technical product owners, analysts, and software engineers.
- Create and maintain SOP documents.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and architectural discussions.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in data engineering.
- Participate in meetings with clients and/or stakeholders.
- Completes work as assigned.
- Provide after-hours or weekend support as needed.
- Demonstrate an ability to work independently.
- Adhere to all the industry level and organization level compliance rules and regulations to maintain data integrity.
- Complete task assignments using department ticketing/productivity systems within assigned deadline.
- Achieve organizational and individual goals as identified in performance reviews and goal setting exercises.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
- 8+ years of data analysis.
- Preferably in the Healthcare industry of enrollment, medical claims and/or pharmacy claims.
- 8+ years hands-on work in SQL and/or PL/SQL.
- Familiarity designing, implementing, and optimizing data models in NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, neo4j) to support high-volume, low-latency workloads.
- Working knowledge of big data/cloud technologies (Databricks, AWS, Azure, Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake etc.) is preferred.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite applications PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Flexible work schedule.
- Experience with project management tools like JIRA.
- Strong understanding of agile development practices, preferably SAFe.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills.

- Must be able to provide high-speed internet access / connectivity and office setup and maintenance.
