Senior Data Engineer

Your role in the team

• Exploration of data sources in the various phases of the product lifecycle of railway infrastructure components (development, production, quality assurance, operation, ...).
• Design of a centralized data architecture for the identified data sources
• Development and implementation of data governance and ETL concepts
• Data Management and Data Quality Assurance
• Development and evaluation of hosting options including scaling concepts
• Consulting for Data Scientists (m/f/d) and Product Developers
• Active participation in the network of data enthusiasts at voestalpine.
• Technical consulting for internal and external stakeholders
• Internal and external stakeholder reporting

What we offer

• The collective agreement minimum salary for this position is EUR 4,445.95 gross (14 times per year). The actual remuneration depends on the respective qualification and professional experience.

Our expectations:

Qualifications

• Expert in cloud and big data technologies as well as data warehouse and data lake concepts, including ETL processes, e.g., Azure (Fabric), Snowflake, AWS, GCP, etc.
• Experience in developing data-driven features in a technical environment, ideally in the railway sector would be an advantage.
• Strategic, interconnected thinking & very high communication skills
• Very good German skills (C1) and very good English skills (C1) for internal and external communication.

Experience

• Several years of experience in developing data architectures (e.g., Medallion), data and analytics strategies in international projects.
• Solid knowledge of AI and advanced analytics as well as practical experience with Python and SQL; additional programming languages such as R, MATLAB, C++ are advantageous.
• Experience in developing Predictive and Prescriptive Maintenance customer solutions is an advantage.
• Ability to inspire enthusiasm for innovative technologies as well as experience with agile project management

Education

• University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related analytical science field (Technical studies preferred; additional MBA advantageous)
