In the Data Center of Excellence, we shape the data foundation for our clients' AI transformation. As a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you will take on a technically leading role in transformation projects – with a focus on regulated industries, especially Financial Services.

You will combine strategic governance design with operational implementation, ensuring that data platforms are not only high-performing but also regulatorily compliant, auditable, and AI-ready.

Your Tasks

• You design and implement scalable data platforms in cloud environments (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• You develop modern ELT/ETL and streaming pipelines for batch and near-real-time processing.
• You implement Lakehouse architectures using open storage and table formats.
• You model data structures according to Data Vault 2.0 or Kimball - depending on the functional and architectural context.
• You build ready-to-consume data products for analytics, reporting, and AI use cases.
• You prepare data for machine learning use cases (including feature engineering logic) without training ML models yourself.
• You ensure data quality, performance, and cost optimization in the cloud.
• You implement orchestration, automation, and CI/CD processes for stable, production-ready platforms.
• You work closely with Data Architects, Governance Teams, and Data Scientists.
• You take on technical responsibility within specific implementation projects.

What You Bring

• At least 3-5 years of experience in building modern data platforms
• In-depth knowledge of at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP)
• Very good SQL skills and experience with Python (or comparable)
• Experience with streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub, Kinesis or comparable)
• Practical experience in data modeling according to Data Vault 2.0 and/or Kimball
• Understanding of modern Lakehouse architectures and open storage formats
• Experience with orchestration and automation of data pipelines
• Know-how in performance and cost optimization in cloud environments
• Experience in collaborating with analytics and data science teams
• Very good German and English language skills.
