About the role

About noris network AG

noris network AG stands for innovative, secure, and sustainable IT solutions. With over 600 dedicated employees, we develop high-performance services in the areas of Cloud, Datacenter, Network & Security, and Managed Applications – operated on a state-of-the-art, multi-certified IT infrastructure with our own high-security data centers. We have been growing continuously since 1993 and are now among the leading IT specialists in Germany. Our greatest asset? A strong, diverse team with a common goal: to actively shape the digital future of our customers. That's why we promote personal responsibility, further development, and fresh ideas – in an environment that combines innovation and sustainability.

noris network AG operates some of the most modern and secure data centers in Europe. To ensure our cloud and managed services customers can access their data at any time, the physical foundation must be absolutely stable. We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer (m/f/d) with a focus on infrastructure & system stability and all-rounder qualities at our Nuremberg location, who will take responsibility for our highly available electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering & Design: You will plan and optimize the electrical infrastructure (medium and low voltage, UPS systems, backup power generators) and ensure maximum selectivity and redundancy.
  • Pragmatic Lifecycle Management: You will plan modernizations (retrofits) during ongoing operations. You will find solutions to expand capacities without ever "pulling the plug."
  • Perfectionist Monitoring: You will implement and refine our DCIM systems (Data Center Infrastructure Management) and link sensor technology with smart evaluation.
  • Mental Flexibility: You will be the central interface between building services and IT operations. You understand both the requirements of modern server hardware and the limitations of building technology.
  • Load Flow & Network Analyses: You will calculate load profiles, evaluate harmonic loads, and ensure that our PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) values remain world-class through intelligent engineering.

Requirements

  • Academic Foundation: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or a comparable background (e.g., state-certified technician (m/f/d) with many years of engineering experience).
  • All-rounder with Depth: You master the theory of energy technology (VDE regulations, short-circuit current calculations) but are not afraid to take measurements yourself when necessary.
  • Analytical Pragmatist: You make well-founded decisions based on data but act intuitively correctly when quick solutions are needed.
  • Perfectionism & Responsibility: You bear responsibility for operational safety. 99.999% availability is not a marketing slogan for you, but your personal engineering goal.
  • Mobile & Flexible: You enjoy traveling in Southern Germany, possess a Class B driver's license, and see travel not as a burden but as part of your on-site problem-solving competence.
  • Ready to Act When It Counts: You know that critical infrastructures don't have closing times – and you are willing to take responsibility outside of regular business hours when the situation requires it.
  • Linguistically Confident: You are proficient in German (fluent in spoken and written) and communicate precisely and professionally in English – whether in technical detail or in international exchange.

Benefits

  • Security That Supports: A permanent employment contract and flexible working hours provide the framework for long-term planning and optimal performance.
  • Fairness That's Measurable: Overtime worked is not lost – by balancing it on your time account, you maintain control over your time at all times.
  • Top-Level Equipment: High-quality equipment including a laptop and company mobile phone – naturally also for private use.
  • Systematic Development: Individual support through in-house and external training that specifically advances your professional skills.
  • Everyday Support: Childcare subsidies and access to attractive corporate benefits – because work and private life are considered together.
  • Team Spirit That

Requirements
