Our Role

We are recruiting a Senior Software Engineer to continue developing our software platform, SteelSeries GG.

The ideal candidate is a development engineer with extensive experience in application development (Desktop and/or Web). They enjoy finding solutions, learning, and acquiring new skills.

Most importantly, they are ready to influence the development of our products through their commitment, programming and software design skills, as well as their analytical and communication abilities.

We are a close-knit team and have many complex problems to solve!

During the 1st Month, You Will:

• Discover your team, other teams, and products.
• Gain expertise on our technical stack. Our frontend is built with JS/React. The backend and system components use various technologies (Python, Go, C#, C++...).
• Actively participate in team ceremonies.
• Make your first commits, Pull requests, and integrations to improve SteelSeries GG features.

Within 3 Months, You Will:

• Contribute to evolving our GG platform to support a community of millions of players.
• Continue to innovate and add features to SteelSeries GG.
• Play and provide feedback on upcoming 'secret' hardware products.

Within 6 Months, You Will:

• Act as a true multi-role engineer, developing software features across the entire product (backend, frontend, intermediate components).
• Contribute to the technical architecture, provide informed analysis, and participate in decisions.
• Keep code clean by proactively refactoring throughout development. Ensure adequate test coverage and effective code reviews.
• Participate in team activities to regularly improve practices and processes.
• Be recognized and sought after for your expertise.

The Profile We Are Looking For:

You are passionate about software technologies and beyond your educational level, you primarily have:

• Software development experience (approximately 10 years) with products brought to market.
• Interest in both application and system development.
• You know how to adapt to new technological stacks.
• You have experience with the following languages or the desire and ability to learn: Go, Python, C++, C#.
• Experience with Web application development using React or another framework.
• Desire to work in a multidisciplinary team: developers, testers, designers, product managers.
• Desire to continuously learn and excel in software engineering.
• Ability to share knowledge and mentor less experienced developers.
• English required for communication with our colleagues in Singapore, Taiwan, and the USA: collaboration is the keyword of our way of working!

Our French site, based in Villeneuve d’Ascq, has 40 employees, including 12 Developers.
