Development Engineer – Flow Modules (Senior or Staff level)

A leading company in sensing technology is looking for a Staff Development Engineer to lead the charge in Flow Module Development. This isn’t just about maintaining products; it’s about defining the next generation of ultrasonic and Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor systems.

Based in the tech hub of Karlsruhe, you will be the bridge between complex physics and commercial reality. From root cause analysis to yield optimisation, you’ll own the lifecycle of modules that demand precision at the semiconductor level.

The Mission

• Full-cycle module design, validation, and documentation.
• Solving complex device failures (Root Cause Analysis).
• Optimising for yield, manufacturability, and test.
• Leading technical specs and technical collaboration with subcontractors.

The Profile

• M.Sc./PhD with 8+ years in the semicon/electronics industry.
• Specialist knowledge in Flow Sensors and electronic circuit design.
• A "Team Driver" mentality—someone who can mentor and lead technical discussions.
• Bilingual: Professional German & English.

Preferred skills

• Profound understanding in sensor application development, specialisation in flow sensors.
• In-depth understanding of electronic circuit design and module design.
• Good understanding of Time-of-Flight measurement principles.
• Good understanding of ultrasonic flow sensor principles and functionalities.
• Know-how about 3D-printing and moulding tools is beneficial.
• Experience with measurement automation and data extraction.
• Good communication & problem-solving skills.
• Specification, presentation and organizational skills.
• Team player/driver.
