About

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of robust infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines for our applications while enhancing and preserving the reliability of our existing systems. Collaborating closely with the Wolters Kluwer Product Teams, you will ensure the successful application of continuous improvements. Your close partnership with application development teams will guarantee that our services and solutions are delivered efficiently and with maximum quality. You will also take on the responsibility of mentoring a dedicated team of DevOps engineers, promoting a collaborative culture of continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and automate Cloud Infrastructure in Azure & AWS utilizing Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship on adopting Infrastructure as Code automation within Service Operations and Delivery, and across the organization.
  • Drive the transition to container and serverless compute architectures, such as AKS, EKS, Docker, and Azure Functions.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and orchestrations across various environments.
  • Advise on the implementation and embrace of Cloud Native solutions tailored to specific needs.
  • Establish and enhance Observability for managed solutions, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Ensure that infrastructure, automation, monitoring, and CI/CD solutions for FCC/DXG align with broader organizational DevOps and Security standards.
  • Mentor and lead a team of DevOps engineers, nurturing a collaborative and educational work environment.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and development patterns, participating in pilots/POC/technology evaluations.
  • Apply SRE principles, focusing on resilience, metrics, capacity planning, toil, incident management, and security in your work.
  • Contribute to architecture and engineering standards.
  • Deploy and manage critical applications effectively.
  • Influence the design of new systems and assist with modernizing existing applications.
  • Identify engineering improvements and recommend strategies for enhancement.
  • Address production incidents and participate in root cause analyses.
  • Enhance knowledge sharing across the organization related to automation best practices.
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities as part of the Service Delivery and Operations team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of software-related experience, including a mix of Site Reliability, DevOps, or Release Engineering experience alongside Software Engineering in backend services, middleware, or data systems.
  • Strong software development experience with proficiency in languages like Python, .NET, or Java.
  • Demonstrated experience with Cloud infrastructure (Azure and AWS).
  • Proficiency in Shell Scripting Languages (PowerShell & Bash).
  • Solid understanding of core Azure/AWS services (PaaS, IaaS, SaaS).
  • Expertise in automation and source configuration management tools like Git.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or Travis CI.
  • Experience in leading a team of DevOps engineers.
  • Ability to convey technical project details clearly to diverse staff to gain their support.
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a DevOps culture centered on continuous integration and the automation of deployment processes.
  • Experience in building platforms for Observability and formulating standard operating procedures.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and scripting automation for both Windows and Linux.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience managing and deploying highly available, fault-tolerant cloud-native systems at scale using Infrastructure as Code automation and CI/CD pipelines.

Compensation

$116,400.00 - $204,100.00 USD, plus eligibility for a bonus. The compensation offered varies based on skills and experience.
