About the Role
As a Senior Cloud Engineer at SMC Squared, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and deployment of cloud-based solutions on AWS. Your role will involve providing technical leadership, mentorship to the DevOps and engineering teams, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will play a crucial role in architecting scalable, secure, and resilient systems that enable innovation and agility across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, high‑performance cloud infrastructure on AWS.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the DevOps and engineering teams.
- Champion Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform and promote automation‑first practices.
- Drive adoption of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and continuous monitoring solutions.
- Architect, deploy, and manage Kubernetes workloads (EKS) and Dockerized applications.
- Create and manage Helm charts, reusable templates, and deployment libraries.
- Implement security best practices, including IAM governance and secure deployment models.
- Oversee system monitoring, performance tuning, and incident response using Datadog, Splunk, and CloudWatch.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align infrastructure goals with product and business objectives.
- Lead initiatives to optimize cost, enhance reliability, and improve operational efficiency across cloud environments.
Qualifications Required
- 6 9 years of relevant hands‑on experience with cloud engineering, AWS infrastructure, and DevOps practices.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer certification preferred.
