Position: Senior Director of Engineering and Product Recruiting
Reporting to: Chief People Officer
Work Location: Menlo Park, CA (exclusive; alternative locations are not available at this time)


Primary Responsibilities

  • People Leadership: Inspire, mentor, develop, and build a team of senior skilled technical recruiters and sourcers.
  • C‑Suite & Executive Partnership: Act as a primary advisor to the Product and Engineering Leadership teams, influencing and coaching senior leaders and maintaining rigor towards recruiting performance, hiring quality, and team scalability.
  • Full‑Spectrum Remit: Lead the end‑to‑end talent strategy for the R&D organization, ranging from overseeing early‑career SWE recruitment, Product Manager searches, and the precision placement of senior technical leadership roles globally.
  • Performance Management: Focus on business impact and outcomes by designing a “go‑forward” technical recruiting organization and innovating our recruiting model.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure the rapid integration of an AI‑native mindset, recruiting process excellence, candidate attraction methodologies, and technology utilization. This role requires the recruiting leader to ensure data accuracy, generate analytics and insights, and experiment with talent programs.
  • Talent Evolution: Evolve hiring manager recruiting skills, focusing on elevating candidate quality by leveraging analytics, and sharpening new‑hire selection criteria for technical and product roles.
  • Organizational Scaling: Continually evolve hiring practices, talent positioning, and recruiting org structures that will scale alongside our technical business.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: 12+ years in Talent Acquisition, with 7+ years specifically managing scaling teams for Engineering and Product organizations.
  • Manager of Managers: Deep experience managing, inspiring, coaching, and scaling a team of senior technical recruiters and sourcers.
  • Technical & Product Fluency: Broad‑based recruiting experience in enterprise software, cloud infrastructure, or large‑scale data platforms.
  • Data‑Driven Influence: Advanced ability to leverage data for insights and to influence recruitment process, talent strategy, and critical hiring initiatives.
  • Relationship Building: Effective at building broad internal relationships across the organization and partnering closely with HRBPs, compensation, finance, and R&D operations. We are looking for a team player who also drives a high performance team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hyper‑growth Track Record: Proven experience scaling an engineering organization from mid‑size to thousands of employees within a high‑growth and highly technical engineering environment.
  • Senior Stakeholder Presence: Extensive experience influencing, aligning, and coaching C‑suite and VP‑level technical leaders.
  • R&D Strategic Vision: Experience partnering with Product and Engineering leadership to align hiring plans with complex product roadmaps and technical workload optimization.
  • Selection Innovation: Demonstrated success in implementing rigorous, performance‑based selection methodologies to maintain high talent density.
  • Architectural Literacy: Ability to communicate effectively with engineering leaders about distributed systems, cloud‑native infrastructure, and AI/ML talent markets.
  • Global Complexity: Experience managing and building distributed recruiting teams across multiple international regions to support global R&D centers.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary Range: $278,000 – $365,400 (estimated)
  • Additional Compensation: Eligible to participate in Snowflake’s bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non‑discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
