Senior E-commerce Platform Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior E-commerce Platform Engineer to join their dynamic, fully remote team. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and deploy scalable, reliable, and high-performance microservices and APIs for the e-commerce platform. Architect and implement robust solutions for product catalog management, order processing, customer accounts, and payment integrations. Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, adhering to coding standards and best practices. Develop and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) to ensure code quality and system stability. Optimize application performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for improved user experience and scalability. Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring adherence to architectural guidelines. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the e-commerce stack. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical growth of the team. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in e-commerce and distributed systems. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 7 years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on e-commerce platforms. Proven experience designing and building large-scale, distributed systems using microservices architecture. Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, or Node.js. Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Deep understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL), including performance tuning and data modeling. Experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and caching mechanisms (Redis, Memcached). Strong knowledge of RESTful API design principles and best practices. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote-first, collaborative environment.
