Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their innovative team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to cutting-edge projects. You will be responsible for the electrical design of complex systems and components, from conceptualization through to final implementation. Your expertise will encompass power distribution, control systems, instrumentation, and ensuring designs meet stringent performance, safety, and regulatory standards. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles and a passion for innovative design solutions.

Key Responsibilities: Develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and wiring layouts for various projects. Design power distribution systems, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and safety. Specify electrical components, equipment, and materials based on project requirements and industry standards. Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) for schematic development and layout design. Perform electrical load calculations, circuit protection analysis, and short-circuit studies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, project managers, and procurement, to ensure integrated designs. Ensure all designs comply with relevant national and international electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, NEMA). Troubleshoot and resolve electrical design issues, providing technical support during manufacturing and commissioning phases. Develop technical specifications and documentation for electrical systems and equipment. Conduct design reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure design integrity. Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering technologies and design tools. Mentor junior electrical engineers and contribute to the team's technical growth. Participate in site visits or virtual site assessments as required for design validation. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical design engineering. Proficiency in electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SOLIDWORKS Electrical). Strong knowledge of power systems, control systems, instrumentation, and automation. Experience with relevant electrical codes and standards. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and design skills. Proven ability to manage design projects independently and meet deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration in a remote team. Familiarity with safety standards and risk assessment in electrical design. Experience in specific industries like manufacturing, renewable energy, or automation is a plus.
