About Us
We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineering Manager to lead and develop our nationwide electrical engineering practice. In this pivotal role, you will manage Regional Technical Leads (RTLs) and various electrical engineering teams throughout the United States, providing essential technical leadership and strategic direction for complex projects in industrial sectors, including petrochemical, oil and gas, power, utility, and substations.
As the senior technical authority for the Industrial Unit, you will ensure technical excellence and quality across all projects while expanding electrical capabilities in various delivery models, including EPC, EPCM, and design-only approaches. This position is vital for both project execution and the long-term growth of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide national leadership for the electrical engineering discipline, functioning as the Technical Discipline Manager for the Industrial & Power practice.
- Support and oversee Regional Technical Leads and electrical engineering teams nationwide.
- Establish and maintain discipline standards, design criteria, tools, and best practices across regions.
- Mentor and develop engineering leaders and staff, focusing on performance management and succession planning.
- Drive growth through strategic hiring, capability development, and resource planning.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, technical excellence, safety, and quality.
Technical Oversight and Quality Assurance
- Act as the senior technical authority for various industrial electrical systems, such as medium- and high-voltage power distribution systems and substations.
- Provide technical oversight and approval for complex electrical designs and ensure consistency across various project types.
- Serve as the escalation point for technical challenges and constructability concerns.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and best practices within the industry.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and QA/QC reviews across the discipline.
Project Delivery and Client Engagement
- Support the delivery of large projects, from power plant conversions to utility infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to achieve scope, schedule, and budget objectives.
- Engage directly with clients to understand their needs and foster long-term relationships.
- Assist in developing proposals, including technical approaches and execution strategies.
Strategic Growth and Industry Representation
- Contribute to the national electrical strategy and business development efforts.
- Represent our firm at industry conferences and client meetings.
- Support the development of internal technical guidance and discipline standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related field.
- Professional engineering (PE) license.
- 15 years of related experience.
- Willingness to travel domestically or internationally as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience leading and managing electrical engineering teams.
- Expertise in overseeing Industrial EPC and EPCM projects.
- Experience with substations in industrial and utility applications.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
