About the role
Our client, a leading engineering and construction firm, is seeking a seasoned Senior Electrical Project Manager to oversee significant electrical projects in Gombe, Gombe, NG and surrounding regions. This role demands a strong blend of technical expertise in electrical engineering and exceptional project management skills. You will be responsible for the planning, execution, and closing of complex electrical infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The position involves a hybrid work arrangement, requiring on-site presence for key project milestones and team coordination, with flexibility for remote administrative tasks.
Responsibilities: Lead and manage all phases of electrical construction projects, from initiation to completion. Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, and resource allocation. Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment, managing vendor relationships and contracts. Coordinate with engineering teams, subcontractors, and site personnel to ensure seamless project execution. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards. Manage project budgets, track expenses, and prepare financial reports. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality of work and adherence to design specifications. Communicate project status effectively to stakeholders, including clients, senior management, and team members. Resolve technical and operational issues that arise during the project lifecycle. Manage project documentation, including contracts, permits, and progress reports. Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Perform post-project evaluation and identify lessons learned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree or PMP certification is a significant advantage. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in managing large-scale electrical construction projects. Proven expertise in electrical systems design, installation, and commissioning. Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall). Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera). In-depth knowledge of electrical codes and safety regulations. Ability to manage complex budgets and schedules. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Experience working in challenging project environments and managing diverse teams. Familiarity with the local construction industry and regulatory landscape is beneficial.
