About the role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to join their innovative team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere. You will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and testing of complex electrical systems for various applications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong theoretical foundation in electrical engineering principles, combined with practical experience in system design, power distribution, control systems, and safety protocols. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our client's electrical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities: Design and develop detailed electrical system schematics, blueprints, and specifications. Perform calculations for power load, voltage drop, fault current, and other critical parameters. Select appropriate electrical components, equipment, and materials based on project requirements. Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems. Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues during design, construction, and operation. Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, industry standards, and safety regulations (e.g., IEEE, IEC). Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, project managers, and technicians. Conduct technical reviews and provide guidance to junior engineers. Develop and maintain documentation, including design reports, test procedures, and as-built drawings. Stay current with advancements in electrical engineering technology and best practices. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical systems design and engineering. Proven experience with power systems, control systems, instrumentation, and low/medium/high voltage distribution. Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, or similar CAD tools. Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently in a remote setting. Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable. Experience with renewable energy systems or industrial automation is a plus.
