About the role

About

We are seeking a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to take charge of a comprehensive embedded firmware platform that supports real-world, deployed hardware systems.

This role is perfect for someone eager to move beyond traditional feature development and take ownership of architecture, reliability, and long-term technical strategy across a complete product ecosystem.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Define and own the end-to-end embedded firmware architecture (RTOS, HAL, bootloaders, device infrastructure)
  • Lead the transition from prototype systems to production-ready, scalable firmware
  • Build and manage OTA firmware update systems, ensuring fleet reliability at scale
  • Act as the technical authority for embedded systems by driving design decisions, diagnosing complex issues, and enhancing system stability
  • Mentor fellow engineers and establish best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines

What We're Seeking

  • 8+ years of experience in embedded firmware development
  • Expert-level proficiency in C/C++ in microcontroller or bare-metal environments
  • Extensive experience with RTOS systems (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or similar)
  • Proven history of taking firmware from prototype to production across successfully shipped products
  • Experience overseeing connected device fleets, including OTA updates and recovery from failures
  • Strong system-level thinking with the ability to design beyond individual components

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, JTAG)
  • Understanding of serial protocols (SPI, CAN, I2C, UART)
  • Experience with secure boot, device security, or safety-critical systems
  • Background in sectors with real-time constraints (hardware, IoT, automotive, robotics, etc.)

Why You Should Consider This Position

  • True Ownership - you will define the architecture rather than maintain legacy code
  • Opportunity to develop a production-grade firmware platform from the ground up
  • Contribute to systems that are deployed in real-world applications, not just prototypes
  • Attractive compensation package plus equity

If you're excited about owning the brains behind complex hardware systems and building innovative solutions from the ground up, we want to hear from you.
