Our client, a leader in the nuclear power industry, is seeking a Software Engineer III to join their team. As a Software Engineer III, you will be part of the I&C Engineering department supporting the development of critical embedded software solutions for nuclear power plant systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully within the organization.

What's the Job?

  • Develop software solutions based on technical requirements for I&C systems in nuclear power plants.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance software functionality and performance.
  • Prepare detailed design specifications, develop, and test software modules, perform hardware-in-the-loop testing, and document all development activities.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure software quality and adherence to industry standards.
  • Maintain compliance with development standards, best practices, and safety protocols.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in embedded software development, including proficiency in C programming languages and development tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Experience with coding conventions, code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Wilmington, NC periodically, including at least one week per month, with some occasions requiring two consecutive weeks.
