Technology is a core driver of the business. Engineering partners directly with portfolio managers, traders, and operations teams to build scalable, high-performance systems that support front-office execution and operational efficiency.

Role Overview

This is a senior backend engineering role focused on building and optimizing mission-critical commodities operations systems.

You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable backend platforms that support trading operations, data flows, and system integrations.

This is a production-grade engineering role — not a ticket-driven support function.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and build backend applications from design through implementation
• Develop and optimize messaging-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Solace, etc.)
• Improve performance, scalability, and system reliability
• Integrate APIs and external services into internal platforms
• Work closely with trading operations and technology stakeholders
• Own code quality, testing, and performance validation

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years backend software engineering experience
• Strong experience with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Solace, etc.)
• Solid SQL and NoSQL database experience
• Experience optimizing performance and tuning backend systems
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with Git and modern SDLC practices
