Responsibilities
- Lead and manage assigned civil/structural engineering projects, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Develop and review conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs, including calculations, drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards (CSA), regulations, and company QA/QC programs.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and instructions to junior engineers and designers; review and verify their work.
- Coordinate structural engineering activities with other disciplines, field engineering, construction, operations, and clients.
- Perform design reviews, field investigations, walkdowns, inspections, and structural analyses using industry-standard software tools.
Qualifications
- Civil Engineering degree with 20+ years of structural design and analysis experience in steel and concrete structures, preferably in nuclear power plants or industrial facilities; a Master's degree is an asset.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario, in good standing, with site/field experience in nuclear or industrial environments preferred.
- Strong expertise in static, dynamic, and seismic analysis of structures and foundations using tools such as STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, and Mathcad.
- In‑depth knowledge of Canadian and international codes and standards (NBCC, CSA) and familiarity with nuclear QA programs, safety regulations, and plant modification processes.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a project‑driven, fast‑paced environment with tight schedules, budgets, and changing priorities.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, organizational, and leadership skills, with willingness to travel, work on‑site, manage multiple assignments, and obtain required security clearance.
