Role Overview

We are searching for a Senior Engineering Manager Infrastructure & Tooling to own and drive our Infrastructure, DevOps, and Tooling teams. In this role, you will lead and grow your teams while actively contributing to the stack, ensuring reliability, scalability, security, compliance, and cost efficiency across our infrastructure. You will set standards for CI/CD, observability, and developer experience, define and execute the infrastructure roadmap aligned with robotics R&D and product milestones, and provide clear technical direction through mentoring, coaching, and hands-on collaboration.

Your Mission

• Lead & Empower: Direct the Infrastructure, DevOps, and Tooling teams, acting as a tribe lead to provide cohesive technical direction
• Own the Core: Take full ownership of reliability, scalability, security, compliance, and cost-efficiency across all infrastructure
• Drive Excellence: Establish rigorous standards and metrics for CI/CD, observability, and overall developer experience
• Strategize: Define and execute the infrastructure roadmap, aligning closely with hardware R&D and product milestones
• Mentorship: Uphold high-quality delivery standards. Grow your team through active mentoring, coaching, and participating in design and code reviews
• Build the Team: Drive hiring initiatives in close collaboration with the recruiting team
• Player-Coach: Dive deep into the stack. You will maintain a hands-on approach, directly contributing to critical technical challenges alongside your team

Your Skillset

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent practical experience
• Proven track record (5+ years) as an individual contributor in Infrastructure, DevOps or related fields
• Experience in leading and the hiring of highly skilled engineers and the interest to grow further your leadership and management skills
• Independent leader with ability to balance pragmatism and long-term platform thinking
• Experience building full hybrid (cloud/on-prem) infrastructures for R&D teams and transitioning into production environments
• Experienced with following tech stack: Linux environments, Azure, Kubernetes (AKS), Terraform / OpenTofu, Prometheus/InfluxDB/Grafana, GitOps & Docker
• Strong system design thinking across compute, networking, storage, and observability
• Experience running critical production systems with on-call responsibility
• Experience with robotics or edge and MLOps is a plus
• Experience with Nix is a plus
