About the role

Senior Software Engineer – Productivity & Automation
Location: Glanewiler, Switzerland (on‑site / hybrid)

Company Overview
We are a leading internet security provider based in Glanewiler, Switzerland, dedicated to protecting businesses and consumers from evolving cyber threats. Our engineering teams build cutting‑edge security solutions that power millions of users worldwide. To keep pace with rapid growth and increasing demand for secure, reliable software, we are expanding our productivity and automation capabilities.

Role Summary
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Software Engineer who will champion the development of tools, pipelines, and processes that boost engineering productivity and delivery quality. You will work closely with cross‑functional engineering teams to design, implement, and maintain CI/CD solutions, shared developer tooling, and automation frameworks that enable faster, safer releases.

Key Responsibilities

  • CI/CD Engineering: Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.) for multiple product lines.
  • Productivity Tooling: Create and evolve shared developer tools (CLI utilities, dashboards, internal libraries) that streamline day‑to‑day workflows.
  • Automation & SRE Collaboration: Partner with Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps teams to embed automated testing, security scanning, and compliance checks into the delivery pipeline.
  • Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Coach engineers on best practices for automation, code quality, and pipeline optimization; lead workshops and brown‑bag sessions.
  • Metrics & Continuous Improvement: Define and track key performance indicators (lead time, MTTR, deployment frequency) to identify bottlenecks and drive iterative enhancements.
  • Cross‑Team Collaboration: Work hand‑in‑hand with product, security, and QA teams to ensure that tooling aligns with business goals and regulatory requirements.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on automation, tooling, or DevOps.
  • Proficiency in Python, Groovy, and JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js or browser‑based).
  • Hands‑on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or CircleCI.
  • Deep understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform, Ansible, Helm).
  • Strong grasp of software delivery best practices: automated testing, static analysis, security scanning, artifact management, and release orchestration.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to surface pipeline health metrics.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to translate complex requirements into clean, maintainable code.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken); German or French is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the cybersecurity or networking domain.
  • Familiarity with GitOps principles and tools (Argo CD, Flux).
  • Contributions to open‑source projects or internal tooling libraries.
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or similar.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and performance‑based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive benefits package (health, pension, wellness programs).
  • Flexible working arrangements with a modern office in Glanewiler.
  • Continuous learning budget, conference sponsorships, and internal tech talks.
  • A collaborative, high‑impact environment where your work directly improves the efficiency of hundreds of engineers.
  • Clear career progression paths toward Staff Engineer, Engineering Manager, or Architecture roles.

How to Apply

If you are passionate about building the infrastructure that powers high‑velocity software delivery and want to make a tangible impact on a leading security organization, please submit your resume and a brief cover letter highlighting:

  1. Your most successful CI/CD or productivity‑tooling project.
  2. How you measured and improved engineering efficiency in that project.

We look forward to welcoming a proactive, innovative engineer to our team!
