Senior Finance & Accounting Leader
Beckley's RVs
About the role
ABOUT BECKLEY’S
Beckley’s Enterprises has been a proven leader in the RV industry for over 45 years, built on a foundation of quality, customer care, and the conviction that good things come to good people. As a family-owned business headquartered in Thurmont, MD, Beckley’s operates across multiple entities spanning RV sales, service, parts, financing, rentals, and related real estate holdings.
The current leader, a long-tenured executive who has been instrumental to the company's growth, will be transitioning out over the coming year. This is a planned, supported succession and the incoming hire will benefit from direct knowledge transfer during the overlap period. This position provides an opportunity to step into an established leadership seat, build on a strong operational foundation, and lead the company into its next phase of growth.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Beckley’s needs a financial leader who is equally comfortable closing the books on a Monday and presenting a three-year capital strategy to ownership on a Tuesday. The right candidate brings strategic horsepower and the willingness to roll up their sleeves—someone who can operate at the 30,000-foot level when the business demands it, and at the transaction level when accuracy requires it.
You will be the senior financial executive across a multi-entity portfolio, reporting directly to ownership, and responsible for building the organizational structure, systems, and team to support Beckley’s next chapter of growth. This role will be titled and scoped to reflect the experience of the right candidate, with consideration for Director of Finance & Accounting, Chief Financial Officer, or other appropriate designations.
DAY-TO-DAY FINANCIAL OPERATIONS
The foundation of this role is hands-on execution. You will own the financial close process and ensure the organization has accurate, timely information to make decisions.
- Maintain the general ledger across all entities, including journal entries, accruals, intercompany transactions, account reconciliations, and month-end close
- Prepare and deliver timely, accurate monthly financial statements for each entity, including balance sheet, income statement, and supporting schedules
- Reconcile bank accounts (checking, money market, investment accounts)—daily when volume requires it
- Administer credit card programs across multiple banking relationships, including cardholder oversight, monthly reconciliation, and expense coding
- Oversee floorplan accounting and inventory financing, including unit-level tracking, curtailment payments, and lender reporting—a core cash flow driver in the dealership model
- Ensure accurate, timely payroll processing through PayCom, including timesheet oversight, commission calculations, tax payments, and quarterly and annual return filings
- Coordinate with outside CPA firm on multi-state sales tax return preparation, providing complete and accurate data on deadline and ensuring all returns are timely filed
- Support annual financial review, tax return preparation, and retirement plan audit by delivering required workpapers, schedules, and supporting documentation to external advisors
- Maintain all company, dealership, and industry licenses across jurisdictions, ensuring timely renewals and full compliance
STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP & ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Beyond the day-to-day, this role carries the responsibility of building—creating the financial infrastructure, team, and strategic frameworks that will carry Beckley’s forward.
- Develop and maintain annual operating budgets, rolling forecasts, and multi-year financial projections, with variance reporting against actual performance
- Build cash flow management, reporting, and projection processes that give ownership real-time visibility into the financial position and liquidity of each entity
- Provide margin, profitability, and inventory turn analysis across new and used sales, service, parts, and rental operations—translating data into actionable insight for leadership
- Manage all banking relationships, credit facilities, floorplan lines, and working capital strategies to support growth, optimize cost of capital, and protect liquidity
- Lead financial modeling and due diligence on strategic initiatives, including potential expansion, acquisitions, real estate decisions, or major capital investments
- Participate in annual reviews of health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance programs, ensuring offerings remain competitive and cost-effective
- Evaluate and improve financial systems, reporting tools, processes, and internal controls—building scalable infrastructure as the business grows
- Assess staffing needs within the finance function and develop a team structure that can grow with the organization
MULTI-ENTITY PORTFOLIO OVERSIGHT
This role will serve as the senior financial steward across the full Beckley’s family of companies. While Beckley’s Enterprises (DBA Beckley’s RV’s) is the primary operating entity, the financial leader must understand and manage the interrelationships across all affiliated entities.
TEAM & STAKEHOLDER INTERACTION
While this role demands a leader who is personally engaged in the work, it is not a one-person finance department. You will lead and collaborate with an established team of internal staff and external partners, each playing a defined role in keeping the financial engine running. Your ability to guide, delegate, and elevate the people around you is just as important as your own technical execution.
- Ownership — direct reporting relationship; trusted advisor on all financial and strategic matters
- Controller — your operational right hand; shares responsibility for general ledger management, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and day-to-day accounting execution across all entities
- Office Manager — day-to-day coordination on administrative and operational workflows
- Title Clerk & Deal Prep/Closer Staff — ensuring deal-level accuracy flows through to financials
- Inventory Clerk — alignment between physical inventory and financial records
- HR Manager — coordination on payroll, benefits, and compliance
- Sales Staff — customer-facing financial support as needed
- External CPA Firm — tax, sales tax, and annual review coordination
- External Payroll Provider (PayCom) — payroll processing and tax compliance
- Banking Partners — credit facilities, floorplan financing, and treasury management
