Skills

  • A deep understanding of ownership structures, such as partnerships, joint ventures, and REITs.
  • Expertise in financial statements and their components (balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and capital expenditure schedules).
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely financial reports.
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into accessible reports and dashboards for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in identifying process inefficiencies and making improvements to enhance owner reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee general accounting activities, ensuring that ledger accounts and financial statements are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Provide guidance and review the work of offshore team members, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure owner-related accounting ledgers are complete, accurate, and comply with accounting principles and standards.
  • Regularly assess cash needs for owner portfolios to ensure adequate working capital.
  • Serve as the primary contact for owners, handling financial inquiries, providing reports, and addressing special analysis requests.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis.
  • Lead the team in generating precise and comprehensive financial reports, improving processes where necessary.
  • Prepare corporate audit schedules and ensure timely responses to auditor questions/requests.
  • Stay up-to-date on required training to meet organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field is required. CPA or CPA candidate is preferred.
  • At least 4 years of experience in financial reporting or FP&A roles.
  • A solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience working with large datasets and familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., MS Excel, SAS, Peoplesoft ERP).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines collaboratively.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.

Education Requirements Credential Category

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; CPA or CPA candidate is a plus.

Experience Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in financial reporting or FP&A roles.
