About the role
JOB SUMMARY
Join Highmark Inc. as a Senior Financial Accountant where you will play a critical role in the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports. Utilize your accounting expertise and analytical skills to classify, record, and report financial transactions. Your primary responsibilities will include the preparation of journal entries, management of fixed assets and inventory, trial balance and financial statement preparation, cost accounting, and reconciliation of bank accounts. In this role, you will ensure accurate tracking of income and expenses and support proper receivables management.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Apply accounting techniques and standard practices to efficiently classify and record financial transactions.
- Prepare insightful financial and business analyses to support decision-making.
- Examine, classify, and analyze accounting records, providing detailed financial reports and statements.
- Lead or participate in project teams for various special projects.
- Serve as a resource and mentor for less experienced colleagues.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and/or education as determined by the company.
EXPERIENCE
Required
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Proficiency in PC-based spreadsheet and data processing applications.
- Demonstrated accounting expertise.

- In-depth knowledge of accounting concepts, principles, practices, and processes, with the ability to effectively solve complex problems.
- Ability to manage broad scopes of assignments with creativity and innovation.

Position Type
- Office-based with regular teaching or training responsibilities.
- Occasional travel between various work sites.

Pay Range
Minimum: $62,700.00 Maximum: $97,200.00
Base pay is determined based on various factors including qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
