Senior Financial Analyst - Banking Sector

Our client, a prominent financial institution within the banking sector, is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Financial Analyst. This role is based in Upington, Northern Cape, ZA , and offers a hybrid working model, providing a balance between in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility.

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing critical financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making across various departments. This includes developing financial models, conducting variance analysis, forecasting future financial performance, and preparing detailed reports for senior management. You will play a key role in budgeting processes, performance management, and capital allocation.

Key responsibilities encompass financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including monthly/quarterly reporting, annual budgeting, and long-range forecasting. The analyst will evaluate the financial implications of new business initiatives, investments, and strategic partnerships. You will also be responsible for identifying cost-saving opportunities and driving financial efficiency throughout the organization. Strong collaboration with accounting, treasury, and business unit leaders is essential to ensure accurate financial data and effective strategic alignment.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A professional qualification such as CFA or CA(SA) is highly desirable. A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or a similar role within the banking or financial services industry is required. Proven expertise in financial modeling, data analysis, and financial reporting tools (e.g., Excel, SAP, Oracle, BI tools) is essential. Strong understanding of banking operations, financial regulations, and capital markets is a significant advantage. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are paramount. The ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and thrive in a dynamic hybrid work environment is crucial.
