ITnova is seeking a Senior Financial Data Analyst to support the Budget team. The Senior Financial Data Analyst will provide technical services that prepare and manage the Department’s budget, overtime, and financial performance, ensure compliance with consultant payments, and maintain records. This is a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Support the Budget team by reviewing and analyzing the department’s monthly financial performance.
• Assist with preparation of the annual budget for Capital, Operating, and Overhead-funded programs.
• Prepare and coordinate monthly consultant accruals by verifying Purchase Orders and supporting documentation.
• Review month-end postings for accuracy and identify financial variances.
• Prepare and submit charge code reclassifications as needed.
• Research and prepare ad hoc project data reports.
• Validate adherence to charge code guidelines for construction and consultant expenditures.
• Track deferred projects and maintain related amortization schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in complex financial analysis and reporting, budget forecasting and data analysis within a large organization
• Proficiency in PC applications (Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to SharePoint, Lists, etc.)
• Intermediate to advanced experience in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros/VBA, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience using SAP financial modules, Peoplesoft, Oracle Essbase and Hyperion with SmartView software applications
• Ability to reconcile financial data
• Ability to work with large datasets
• Knowledge of GASB accounting principles
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
• Demonstrated experience working independently
• High attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and inconsistencies
• Must be a team player
