About

As a key player in our organization, the Senior Financial Reporting Accountant will assist in the preparation and review of the Company's quarterly and annual financial reports, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K, as well as quarterly earnings releases filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This position is vital for maintaining essential internal and external relationships that support our robust financial reporting process.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating closely with the Director of Financial Reporting and the team to prepare consolidated financial statements while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting and disclosure requirements.
  • Assisting in the crafting of quarterly earnings press releases, earnings call scripts, and investor presentations in partnership with Investor Relations, Financial Planning and Analysis, Treasury, and Business Accounting teams.
  • Regularly updating the Director of Financial Reporting and the broader team on the status of responsibilities to ensure timely compliance with deadlines.
  • Supporting the preparation and review of annual employee benefit plan financial statements and addressing audit requests from the Department of Labor (DOL).
  • Contributing to the preparation of regulated utilities annual financial statements for external submission, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Aiding in various diligence and compliance needs, addressing technical accounting inquiries, and documenting conclusions related to accounting issues.
  • Preparing corporate and intercompany elimination journal entries as part of the month-end close process.
  • Maintaining and updating balance sheet reconciliation files for month-end close.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal control policies and procedures and providing documentation support for internal audits related to financial reporting.
  • Acting as a primary contact for both internal and external auditors, providing requested documentation and support regarding financial statements and accounting treatments.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Mentoring and supporting the development of junior staff members.
  • Identifying opportunities for increased efficiency in reporting cycles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Five years of progressive experience in public practice or industry is preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint), familiarity with Workiva, Blackline, and Power Plan is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and adept at prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
