We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Risk Analyst to join our robust risk management division. This is a fully remote position, enabling you to work from your preferred location while contributing to critical financial oversight. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and monitoring financial risks across the organization, including market risk, credit risk, operational risk, and liquidity risk. You will develop and implement risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures to mitigate potential exposures and ensure regulatory compliance. A deep understanding of financial markets, quantitative analysis, and regulatory requirements is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust risk management strategies and models.
• Conduct quantitative analysis of financial data to identify and assess potential risks.
• Monitor market trends and economic conditions to anticipate potential risk impacts.
• Design and execute stress testing and scenario analysis for various risk types.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations (e.g., Basel III, IFRS 9).
• Prepare risk reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate with business units to embed risk management principles into daily operations.
• Identify control weaknesses and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Stay current with best practices and emerging trends in financial risk management.
• Maintain and enhance risk management systems and tools.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in financial risk management.
• Professional certifications such as FRM or CFA are highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency in statistical software and programming languages (e.g., R, Python, SQL).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
• Ability to work remotely while supporting the operational base in Upington, Northern Cape, ZA.
