Job Summary/Company:
Sparks Group, partnered with a renowned government transportation contractor, is in search of a strategic Senior Financial Systems Analyst to bridge the gap between financial operations and technical system optimization. This role is central to leadership decision-making, overseeing the entire budget lifecycle while driving process improvements through advanced financial systems. The ideal candidate brings a high level of accountability and a strong background in public sector or government finance.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and evaluate comprehensive financial statements, budgetary reports, and high-level summaries to guide executive leadership.
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of budget planning, justification, and implementation for various organizational units or programs.
- Lead periodic financial closing processes, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles.
- Execute detailed cost evaluations and financial projections to drive informed programmatic and fiscal choices.
- Perform internal reviews and account reconciliations to maintain high standards of data accuracy and reporting integrity.
- Deliver senior-level administration for financial system enhancements and lead initiatives for process improvement.
Qualifications/Background Profile:
- At least 5 years of professional experience in a related fiscal capacity.
- No less than 4 years in a senior-level role focused on financial system administration and process optimization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar business-centric discipline.
- Advanced degree or professional industry certifications are preferred.
- Advanced expertise in managing internal controls, audits, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Proven ability to prioritize complex projects and provide executive-level support under demanding timelines.
- Extensive background in budget development, forecasting, and cost management.
- Prior experience in municipal, state, or federal financial operations is highly valued.
- Strong communication skills with a track record of presenting financial data to high-level stakeholders.

- Pay Range: Hourly $50.00 to $55.00
