Our client, a leading innovator in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior FMCG Product Manager to join their dynamic, remote-first team. This pivotal role is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle management of key product lines, driving innovation, and ensuring market success. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of consumer trends, market dynamics, and product development strategies within the FMCG landscape. You will be instrumental in identifying new product opportunities, defining product specifications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including R&D, Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain to bring groundbreaking products to market.

Responsibilities will include: Developing and executing comprehensive product strategies and roadmaps for assigned product categories. Conducting market research, competitive analysis, and consumer insights gathering to identify unmet needs and emerging trends. Translating consumer needs and business requirements into detailed product specifications and user stories. Managing product development projects from concept to launch, ensuring timely delivery within budget. Collaborating closely with engineering and design teams to ensure product quality and user experience meet high standards. Developing and implementing go-to-market strategies in partnership with the marketing and sales departments. Monitoring product performance post-launch, analyzing sales data, and identifying areas for improvement or optimization. Managing product P&L, forecasting sales, and reporting on key performance indicators. Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive product success. Mentoring junior product team members and fostering a collaborative team environment. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. While location is flexible, you must be comfortable working autonomously and engaging effectively in a virtual setting. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, a persuasive communicator, and possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required; an MBA or advanced degree is a plus. A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in product management within the FMCG industry is essential. Proven success in launching new products and managing mature product portfolios is critical. Experience with agile methodologies and digital product development is highly desirable.
